The 1970-71 Lancer wrestling team
won the Erie County League Championship for the 2nd consecutive
year, beating arch rival, Fort LeBoeuf, 24-20 for the title.
Mike Meeker, Dan Harrison and Keith Frndak
won Section crowns. Harrison also won District 10 and NW
Regional titles at 138 lbs. Harrison became the first General
McLane wrestler to place at the state tournament, when he
took 3rd.
Coach Samol's 1969-1970 and 1970-1971 teams
compiled a 24-2-1 record and won ECL team titles both seasons.
