Hudson Harrison and Ryan Dunlap
Will Make Trip To Hershey

Hudson Harrison won his first Regional title Saturday evening when he beat Erie Prep's Jon Wentz by a 12-2 major decision, in the finals. Harrison dominated his weight class. He pinned his first opponent and scored major decisions in his last two bouts. Hudson also won his 37th bout of the season in the finals.

Ryan Dunlap will also make the trip to the PIAA tournament. He placed third in the tournament by beating Phillipsburg-Osceolla's Adam White in the consolation finals by a 6-3 score. Ryan's only loss came at the hands of runner-up Richard Brooks (State College).

Kyle Feikles ended his high school career when he lost to McDowell's Chad George, 2-1. Feikles did have the satisfaction of winning his 100th career bout in the consolation semis. Branden Stearns was also denied a trip to Hershey. He lost a 2-1 heart breaker to Huntingdon's Brad Clark in the consy finals.

General McLane finished 5th in the tournament behind State College, Bald Eagle Area, Central Mountain and Clearfield.

News and Notes:

Hudson Harrison secured his 37th win of the year in the Regional Finals. He needs two wins to tie Frank Myers' season record of 39. Hudson's win in the finals was also another first of sorts. Last year Dan and Hayden Harrison became GM's first father-son District 10 Champs. This year, Hudson and father, Dan became GM's first father-son Regional Champs. Dan won his title in 1971.

Congratulations to Luke Harrison for a great wrestling season and career. Luke has left his mark by posting 25 falls in a single season (this year). That's the second highest in McLane history. Luke also holds the number 3 spot for career falls (60) and the 3rd spot for wins in a season (36).

Ryan Dunlap can finally be known as a District 10 and Regional place winner, as well as a State qualifier" instead of just "The toughest wrestler in the practice room." Ryan has racked up 31 wins this year. Congratulations on a great post-season performance.

Kyle Feikles won his 100th bout and wrestled very well at Regionals. If he hadn't gotten caught in Landis Wright's awesome headlock, he would probably be making a trip to Hershey.

Hayden Harrison had an unbelievable season, winning 36 matches and setting several other records. He should also be going to Hershey, but the flu bug bit him just after Districts. It obviously affected his performance in Altoona. At least there is next year for Hayden.

Hats of to Branden Stearns for his 4th place finish. Stearns missed the state tournament by one point. He also shook off the Connole demon. Branden finally defeated the Prep wrestler, 3-2 in the consolation finals.

Congrats also to Jake Keene, Tim Shrout, Hadley Harrison and Wayne Gormont. They all wrestled well this past weekend. All four of them had losses to some very tough wrestlers.
