Results from the 2007 PAJW Tournament

10 & under
60 lbs. KENNY STOLL FINISHED WITH A 4-3 RECORD AND PLACED 8TH. CONGRATULATIONS!!! He won his first bout over Miles Bowser (Sharpsville), 6-2, then lost to Jason Rinaldi (Marple Newtown) by a score of 6-2. In the first consolation round , Stoll pinned Carl Gorg of Williamson in 2:29. In the second consi round Kenny pinned Micheal Heinl (Shaler) in 1:28. He then beat Jihad Ratliff (Valley) by fall in 2:47 to move into the consi quarters. Stoll lost his consi quarters bout to Area IV champ, Brendan Price (Canon McMillan) by a score of 6-1. He then lost to Area III champ, Luke Pletcher of Greater Latrobe by fall (:44) in the 7th place wrestle-off.

70 lbs. Keller Watkins went 0-2. He lost to Tyler Blankenship of Kane by fall at 2:50 in the openinjg round, then dropped a 4-0 decision to Pennsbury's Chad Saunders.

80 lbs. Kyle Sult won his first bout by fall in 1:42 over Casey Berchick (Conemaugh Twp.). He dropped into the consolations when he lost to Pine Richland's Robby Kalen by fall in 1:33. Sult followed with 2 straight wins in the consolation rounds, a 3-2 decision over Dustin Crum of Saegertown and a 9-6 win over Derrick Claar of Chestnut Ridge. Kyle lost a heart breaking, 3-2 decision to Billy Bowlen of Carmichaels. That loss knocked him out of the tournament, one win short of placing. It was a great performance for Kyle though, winning 3 matches at states. Congrats!

95 lbs. Jim Nuhfer won his preliminary round bout, a 9-1 major decision over Franklin's Nathan Stevenson. He dropped into the consolations and was pinned by Dylan Herb (Shippensbug) in 3:40. He lost a 9-1 major decision to South Fayette's Jack Previte in the consi 3rd round. Nuhfer exited the tournament one win short of placing.

11 & 12
85 lbs. TIM WHEELING PLACED 6TH. CONGRATS!!! Tim won his opening round bout over Area V champ, Brodie Zacherl (Brookville), 5-0, then eked out a 2-1 win over Area IX champ, Austin Rose of Central Dauphin in the quarterfinals. Wheeling lost to Area VII champ, Dylan Morgan, 9-3 in the semis. In the consi semis Tim lost to Area IV champ, Dario Dobbin (Canon McMillan) 4-1 and then lost his final match to Area II champ, Tyson Dippery of Lewistown by a score of 8-1.

13 & 14
77 lbs. CODY BOWERS PLACED 7TH. CONGRATS!!! Cody lost a 5-4 heart breaker, in the opening round to Nathan Schwab (Smethport). He won a 13-0 major decision over Kyle Walsh of West Scranton in the 2rd consi round, then pinned Aaron Toth (Charleroi) in 2:44 in the 3rd consolation round. That clinched a top 8 finish for Bowers. Bowers lost in the consi quarters to Nick Roberts of North Star (by fall in :30). Cody bounced back to beat Area V champ, Nathan Schwab (Smethport), 1-0 for 7th.

82 lbs. Paul Scharrer went 0-2. He lost by fall in :42 to Derrick Evanovich of Peters Township, then lost a close, 2-0 decision to Kie Brown of Huntingdon.
