Wrestling Club Results from the 2005 J.O. State Tournament
Shawn McFadden Places 8th
General
McLane freshman, Shawn McFadden won 3 bouts at the 2005
Jr. Olympic State Wrestling Championships on Friday and
Saturday to place 8th in the 252 lbs. weight class. He
is the first Edinboro Wrestling Club wrestler since 2002
to place at states.
McFadden
dropped his first bout, 13-7 to Milton's Andrew Taylor.
He then rattled off 3 straight close wins to guarantee
himself a medal.
11
& 12 year old wrestlers, Ken Stoll and Tim Wheeling
both went 2-2 and came up one win short of placing. Joe
Wheeling and Ossie Bowers both won one match each. Joe
Wheeling's 2 losses were heartbreakers (4-3 and 6-5 in
double overtime). Ryan Ruth also had some tough luck,
going 0-2. Both of his losses were close (2-1 and 1-0).
Congratulations
to this year's state qualifiers. They all wrestled very
well and will do well in the future if they continue to
work hard.

2004-2005 Edinboro Wrestling Club
Congratulations
to the Edinboro Wrestling Club on their 2nd Place
finish at the 2005 Great Lakes Elementary League Wrestling
Tournament. The tournament was held at Edinboro's McComb
Fieldhouse on Sunday, February 6th.
