2nd Place at the GL-EWL Championship Tournament!

Wrestlers Place at the State Tourney
Two
wrestlers from the Edinboro Youth Wrestling Club made the podium
at this year's PAJW Tournament, which was held in Erie. Six
other EYWC wrestlers qualified for the tournament.
At
90 lbs.(9-10 division) Gavin Connolly placed 7th. Connolly
won his preliminary bout with a pin, before falling to Northern
York's Cole Bartram, 3-0 in the quarterfinal round. Gavin bounced
back with a win by fall in the 4th consi round and then lost
a 2-0 squeaker to Adam Rohan Jr. of North Allegheny in the consolation
quarterfinals. He pulled out a 2-0 decision in this last bout
to snag the 7th place medal.
Cody
Stempka took 4th place at 145 lbs. in the 11-12 division.
Stempka won his first two bouts to make the quarterfinals and
then lost by fall to Tate Nichter of Chambersburg. Stempka won
three straight bouts in the consolation rounds and did not lose
again until the consolation finals. Cody won five matches in
the tournament, all by fall.
Gabe
Dorman (7-8, 60#), Magnus Lloyd (9-10, 120#), Hudson
Spires (9-10, 80#), Beau Caro (11-12, 85#), James
Laird (11-12, 115#) and Hunter Robison (11-12, 65#)
also qualified for the tournament. All of the EYWC wrestlers
got at least 1 win in the tornament. Spires went 2-2, Robison,
Dorman, Lloyd, Laird and Caro all went 1-2.
