Wrestling Club Results
from the 2006 PAJW State Championships
Doug
Myers (145 lbs-11 & 12) rallied to claim 3rd
place at the 2006 PAJW state tournament on Saturday
in Johnstown, PA. Myers lost his first round match to
eventual champion, Sam Guida of Fort Cherry, then proceeded
to rattle off five straight wins to take 3rd. All five
of Doug's wins were by fall.
Chris
Laird (9 & 10-120 lbs) went 3-2 and came up just
one win short of placing at the tournament. Cody Bowers
(11 & 12-70 lbs) went 2-2. Kenny Stoll (9 &
10-55 lbs), Joe Wheeling (9& 10-65 lbs), Ossie
Bowers (11 & 12-70 lbs) and Paul Scharrer
(13 &14-77 lbs) all went 1-2. Keller Watkins (9 &
10-60 lbs), Tyler Hendricks (9 & 10-120 lbs) and Tim
Wheeling (11 & 12-75 lbs) went 0-2.

Wrestling Club Results
from the 2006 J.O. Area VIII Tournament
Ten
Wrestlers from the Edinboro wrestling club qualified for
the J.O. state tournament Saturday in Corry. Kenny
Stoll, Tyler Hendricks, Ossie Bowers,
Tim Wheeling and Doug Myers all won Area
8 titles. Keller Watkins, Joe Wheeling,
Chris Laird and Cody Bowers garnered runnerup
honors.
It
was a very successful outing for the Edinboro club. Ten
state qualifiers is the highest number the club has had
in recent years. Nine members of the Edinboro Wrestling
Club made the trip to states in 2002. This year's state
tournament will be held in Johnstown, PA. on March 24th
and 25th.
